During this festival, sisters tie a rakhi around their brothers' wrists, symbolizing protection and care. In return, brothers offer gifts as a gesture of their ongoing bond. The term «Raksha Bandhan» translates to «the bond of protection, obligation, or care,» underscoring the festival's emphasis on familial ties.
The Moon will also be classified as a supermoon. The term «supermoon» was introduced by astrologer Richard Nolle in 1979 to describe a new or full Moon that occurs when the Moon is within 90% of its closest approach to Earth.
