This tunnel in Mexico needs oxygen cylinders to reach the other end; drug smuggling suspected
Tijuana in North Mexico had discovered a tunnel that was being used to smuggle drugs into the US. The investigating authorities have come across a unique challenge. They are unable to proceed with the investigation without being able to arrange sufficient quantity of Oxygen tanks. The tunnel is believed to be so long that it needs sufficient quantities of oxygen to enter and sustain one’s self inside it. Mexico has emerged as a safe haven for the shipment and sale of drugs. Many of these tunnels extend into the US and the forces in these bordering states are actively contributing towards preventing smuggling of drugs.
Tunnel at Tijuana:
Officials at the Baja California state said that it was important to stock up oxygen cylinders before they are able to explore the entire length of the tunnel. The authorities in the US have been notified regarding the existence of the tunnel.
Inside the tunnel:
A tunnel that was discovered two years ago had proper ventilation, electricity, reinforced walls and was the size of six football fields. What began in Tijuana entered the US and ended at one of the industrial units located at San Diego. The US authorities arrested six residents of the state who were charged with conspiring to distribute Cocaine.
