'Those About to Die': Anthony Hopkins-starrer Peacock's series to be released soon

'Those About to Die' will be released soon. The epic drama is based on Daniel P. Mannix's nonfiction classic of the same name and it exposes the corrupt world of the spectacle-driven gladiatorial competition. The dirty business of mass entertainment, the mob that wants to watch blood in sports, all are depicted vividly keeping in mind the time of the Roman Empire.

Release Date

Peacock has announced to release of all ten episodes of 'Those About to Die' on July 18, 2024, reports 'Collider'. It will be released days before the inauguration of the Olympic Games in Paris begins on July 26.

Peacock has released a trailer for the sword-and-sandal series, directed by Roland Emmerich, best known for 'Independence Day'.
Hopkins has narrated the 50-second trailer. It opens with the flashes of warriors with swords, shields, and bows. He recounts how the battles in the arena are just as much a part of the history of the war as clashes on the field and verbal spars and subterfuge behind closed doors. The narration reflects the political intrigue going on behind the scenes. The series is full of actions and exposes the intriguing factors behind this blood sport. The final scene shows horses and chariots storming through the arena while warriors fight with fury and grace.
