Tim Walz taunts and mocks Elon Musk, says he boosts mood by looking at Tesla stock; world's richest man responds, sets social media on fire
Elon Musk and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz exchanged heated words online over Tesla's stock decline. Walz mocked Musk's financial losses, and the billionaire responded with a sarcastic rebuttal.
As Tesla's value plummets, the billionaire's growing political power remains a source of contention.
Why did Tim Walz mock Elon Musk?
Tim Walz claims that looking at Tesla stock «boosts mood.» Speaking to a crowd in Wisconsin on Tuesday, Governor Tim Walz made fun of Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and the spokesperson for President Trump's polarizing cuts to government agencies, by saying that he finds that looking at Tesla stock improves his mood, as quoted in a report by The Hill.
«I know some of you are aware of this, but there's this thing on my iPhone. In a video he shared on social media site X, Walz stated, „They have that little stock app,“ during an event on Tuesday night.
To a chuckling audience, he remarked, „I added Tesla to it to give me a little boost during the day.“ He went on, „225 and dropping!“

Walz's remarks coincide with a string of vandalism incidents against Tesla buildings and cars nationwide, most recently in Las Vegas, where the FBI opened an investigation after multiple electric cars were set on fire.
How did Elon Musk respond?
Tesla’s CEO responded to Tim Walz's joke in a post on X.
»I look at the @JDVance portrait in the @WhiteHouse and thank the Lord sometimes when I need a little boost," Musk wrote, adding an emoji of praying hands.
