Tina Knowles, the mother of renowned singer Beyoncé, stood up against allegations of her daughter lightening her skin. The controversy stirred after Beyoncé's appearance at the premiere of her film, «Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé,» where she donned a silver outfit complemented by platinum blonde hair.

Knowles took to her Instagram on Nov. 28 to slam these accusations, calling out the perpetuation of racism, sexism, and double standards.
She shared a post that included a video compilation of Beyoncé, accompanied by a lengthy caption addressing the issue head-on.
«Today I came across ignorant, self-hating racist statements about her, lightening her skin, and wearing platinum hair wanting to be white,» Knowles wrote, kicking off her rebuttal.
The post featured a video showcasing Beyoncé's silver-themed premiere appearance, overlaid with quotes from online users questioning her transformation, such as «She's white now?» and «She whitens her skin!»
Knowles elucidated the theme of the event, emphasizing that it was centered around the color silver, encouraging guests to attire themselves accordingly. She rebuked the baseless accusations, criticizing those who propagated the narrative of Beyoncé aspiring to be a white woman.
She further highlighted the intrusion of a white media figure into Beyoncé's narrative, expressing her dismay at the entitlement exhibited by someone discussing Beyoncé's Blackness.
