Traders organisation Chamber of trade and industry ( CTI) have hired 100 women entrepreneurs for G20 summit who will give free services as a language translator to the delegates going for shopping in Delhi’s markets.
While prominent markets like Connaught Place, Khan Market, Yashwant place and Janpath will be closed shopkeepers of other markets such as South Extension, Karol Bagh and Chandni Chowk are hopeful of delegates coming to shop.
“These women entrepreneurs are very good in English, French, Spanish, German among others. We have sent the list to Foreign minister for coordination,” said CTI Chairman Brijesh Goyal.
These women entrepreneurs are well known business women, who are make up artists, fashion designers, influencers, bloggers, salon owners and boutique owners among others.
However traders feel that this was the best opportunity to showcase ‘Make in India’ products.
“While there is no issue in closing the market keeping in mind the security concern, we feel we are missing the opportunity to showcase Indian products to the world.
