Jain designated Rs 5 crore for the Sri Venkateswara Bhakti Channel trust (SVBC) and Rs 1 crore for the Sri Venkateswara Gosamrakshana trust. SVBC is the television channel of TTD, which promotes and propagates the Hindu religion by telecasting its devotional activities and programmes while SV Gosamrakshana Trust is focused on protecting the cow.
“His donations will further strengthen the Tirupati trust in spearheading the propagation of the Hindu Sanathana Dharma and other philanthropic activities carried out by the Tirupati trust,” said the TTD Additional EO, thanking Jain for his contribution.
Row erupts after TN devotees caught eating egg biryani at Tirumala
Devotees from Tamil Nadu were found eating egg biryani on Tirumala, sparking criticism of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) security. The incident happened Friday near the Rambagicha bus stand. Consuming non-vegetarian food is forbidden on Tirumala.
Other devotees alerted Tirumala police, who responded and warned the group. The devotees claimed ignorance of the rule.
