In 2019, it had 20,69,559 electors, with 14,54,518 valid votes. Arjunlal Meena of the Bharatiya Janata Party clinched victory with 871,548 votes, defeating Indian National Congress' Raghuvir Singh Meena by 437,914 votes.

BJP’s decision to field Mannalal Rawat from Udaipur has reportedly caused discomfort in the party’s state unit. Rawat, a former employee of the Rajasthan State Roadways and Transport Corporation (RSRTC), has caused consternation due to his relative inexperience in electoral politics.
His nomination was a “calculated risk”, sources had said TOI, adding that local leaders were not taken into confidence on Rawat’s candidature.
