Chris Christie, former governor of New Jersey and US presidential candidate for the 2024 US presidential elections, was taken aback when he was asked about unidentified flying objects (UFOs). Christie was posed the question at the Republican presidential primary debate on Wednesday, August 24, 2023.
He is the only candidate to have been asked about the possible alien vehicles.
Moderator and FOX News Anchor Martha MacCallum asked Christie what he, as president of the USA, would do to inform Americans on what the government already knows about (alleged) encounters with extraterrestrials.
MacCallum said that more people are into the alien flying objects as a serious thing following the July 2023 congressional hearing, where witnesses had called for military transparency on UFOs.
But Christie was rather surprised with the question. «I get the UFO question?» he counter-questioned.
He then joked that she asked him the question because they both belonged to New Jersey.

But he went on to emphasize that it is the president's job to “stand for truth”.
„The job of the president of the United States is to level with the American people about everything. The job of the president of the United States is to stand for truth,“ said Christie.
MacCallum's question to Christie seemed like a plan to put pressure on the executive and the military to release more information about so-called unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP) or UFOs.
