The US Department of Transportation simply specified that they are withdrawing their support for this plan, but has to finitely mention by when this program could get terminated. Moreover, the handling of congestion pricing is operated by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, even though it is the DOT that sanctioned the approval in the first place. Meanwhile, MTA Chair and CEO Janno Lieber has filed a lawsuit in this regard to ensure that things remain unchanged and reverse Trump's decision to stop congestion pricing.
One of the biggest projects that could be affected by the potential end of congestion pricing is the second phase of the Second Avenue subway extension, which may cause enough problems of its own. The halt of the program would affect multiple subway stations and some C&F lies across Brooklyn and Manhattan, says NBC.
