Apart from the officers of the department, LPG distributors, representatives of different cooking gas companies, and the officials of the fire department attended the meeting. At the meeting, it was decided to issue necessary guidelines to put a check on the fire accidents to be caused by LPG leakage.
The instructions, issued by the administration after the meeting, include mandatory checking of the LPG cylinders. Technical assistants will be tasked to check LPG cylinders for leakage. If leakage is found in any LPG cylinder, the supply of the cylinder will be stopped.
The administration will also focus on the use of safety equipment. Consumers' gas cylinders, pipes and regulators were checked. Subsequently, necessary instructions were given to replace such safety equipment which were found not up to the standard.
As a part of preparedness to deal with emergencies, teams of technical assistants have been deployed in the fair area and they will take immediate action in case of any emergency.
