Buckley spent over 33 years at the firm and was named CEO in 2018 and chair in 2019. The firm described his CEO tenure as «dynamic and highly successful». He joined in 1991 as founder John Bogle's research assistant, then joined the senior leadership team in 2001 as information technology lead. He then became head of the personal investor division and followed that with his role as CIO.
