‘Sanjay,’ a four-legged robot, is designed to handle a variety of operations, making it a versatile asset for the Indian Army. The robot is engineered to perform tasks in challenging terrains, such as climbing stairs, navigating steep hills, and crossing obstacles. Its all-weather adaptability is one of the key features, allowing it to function in extreme conditions, ranging from temperatures as low as -40°C to as high as 55°C.
The ‘MULE’ is built to enhance military operations in numerous ways. It plays a crucial role in perimeter security, asset protection, and even in the most complex situations involving chemical, biological, or nuclear warfare. Its capabilities extend to explosives detection, disposal, intelligence gathering, and surveillance. This multi-functionality makes it an invaluable tool for the armed forces.
The robotic dogs can carry up to 15 kilograms of payload, providing a versatile and reliable means of transporting equipment in difficult environments. Currently, the Indian Army has inducted around 100 robotic dogs into various units, with ‘Sanjay’ being one of the standout models.
