Aam Aadmi Party's Atishi a legal notice for saying that she was warned to join the BJP or go to jail on Wednesday.
«We've given a legal notice to (Delhi Minister and AAP leader Atishi ) to provide evidence, We will not let her escape. This time she has to answer,» said Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva. «She is lying and her allegations are baseless and it is in AAP's nature to lie. BJP had warned yesterday that legal action would be taken against her if she didn't prove her claims.
«I was approached by the BJP through a person very close to me who asked me to join the BJP to save and enhance my political career or I will be arrested within a month,» Atishi said addressing a press conference on Tuesday.
«If Atishi fails to provide details of the person who she claims approached her on our behalf to join the BJP, we will take legal action against her. She can't put baseless allegations against us and get away with it,» Sachdeva had said earlier.
Atishi in her press conference even claimed that the Enforcement Directorate would conduct raids at her residence and that of her relatives. Atishi claimed that besides herself, three Aam Aadmi Party leaders, Delhi Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj, MLA Durgesh Pathak and Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha, would also be arrested.
