According to the IMD, Delhi recorded a maximum temperature of 28.4°C on Wednesday, four degrees above normal. The minimum temperature was 10.4°C, slightly below the seasonal average. Humidity levels fluctuated between 29% and 97% during the day.
«The weather will remain cloudy, and there is a possibility of drizzle or light rain until the afternoon,» an IMD official stated. Winds will pick up, reaching speeds of 20-30 km/h. The maximum temperature is expected to drop to 25°C, with the minimum at 13°C. The skies will clear from February 21, leading to a gradual rise in temperature.
The rain over Delhi is part of a broader weather pattern caused by an active Western Disturbance over northern Pakistan. As a result, Punjab, Haryana, North Rajasthan, and Western Uttar Pradesh are also experiencing light to moderate rainfall and thunderstorms.
According to Skymet Weather, «Winter rain is likely for the second time this month. Earlier, 0.5 mm of rain fell on February 4 and 5. Even after half of February has passed, Delhi has received significantly less rainfall than the normal 21.5 mm.» The latest spell is expected to bring around 5 mm of rain, though showers will cease by Thursday afternoon.
