West Bengal Assembly witnessed an unprecedented incident on Wednesday with both ruling Trinamool Congress and opposition BJP MLA holding sit-in-protest in the premises of the assembly with Leader of Opposition (LoP) Suvendu Adhikari pointing fingers at the state Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee calling her “thief.
Banerjee was sitting with her party MLAs outside the House in front of the Dr BR Ahmbedkar statue, when Adhikari entered the assembly after Union Home Minister Amit Shah addressed a rally in Kolkata today. Shah had also launched a scathing attack on the Trinamool Congress Supremo Mamata Banerjee on corruption, syndicate raj, «parivarbaad» and cut-money culture.
Adhikari also raised the corruption issue during BJP’s protest in the assembly premises.
Trinamool MLAs today dressed in black today sat for dharna on MGNREGA issue and was later joined by their party Supremo and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
The Trinamool MLAs and ministers also raised slogans, “BJP is a party of thieves. All are thieves.”
