‘What is a woman?’: Here's how Donald Trump answered this question amid his contoversial transgender policies
The question was asked within the framework of Women's History Month and the policies of the administration toward defining gender and transgender rights.
A reporter, after praising Trump's policies that have denied transgender athletes from playing women's sports, inquired, «What is a woman, and why is it that we need to acknowledge the difference between men and women?»
Without hesitation, Trump responded, «Well, it’s actually a simple answer for me. A woman is someone who can bear a child under certain conditions”, as quoted in a report by Fox News.
His remarks were met with amusement as he further added, „A woman is also someone much smarter than a man. I’ve always believed that… A woman is someone who never gives a man an easy chance at winning.“

Trump's Administration and Transgender Policies
Trump's comments were in line with his administration's gender identity policies. His presidency witnessed a stream of policies designed to uphold classic sex definitions.
On his first day in the White House, Trump signed an executive order stating that a woman is „an adult human female“ and that females are „persons who, at conception, are of the sex which produces large reproductive cells.“
The order directed federal agencies to acknowledge only two genders, male and female, and to stop funding any programs that advance „gender ideology.“
Additionally, during Trump's presidency, the State Department made alterations to passport policy, where gender markers on government documents would truly represent an individual's biological sex.
This move was in direct contrast to the approach taken during Joe Biden's presidency, which permitted applicants to choose an „X“ option as a gender-neutral label.
