In one of the posts, the singer can be seen enjoying breakfast with his girlfriend, Kate Cassidy, and making light-hearted comments about playing polo later in the day. «Today, we ride. I'm going to be playing polo again, which will probably put me out of action for about six weeks,» he joked.
His final posts included moments spent with Kate and even a mirror selfie of the couple. The casual tone of the posts made the news of his tragic death even more heartbreaking for his fans.
Witnesses reported that Payne fell from the third-floor balcony of his hotel room around 5 p.m. local time. As per the Daily Mail, Argentine authorities, including the Director of Emergency Medical Services, Alberto Crescenti, confirmed that Payne was found dead in the hotel’s interior patio. Local reports have speculated that Payne may have been under the influence of substances, though this remains unconfirmed as investigations continue.
