Elon Musk's artificial intelligence startup xAI has introduced Grok-3, the latest iteration of its chatbot, as it looks to compete with Chinese AI firm DeepSeek, Microsoft-backed OpenAI, and Alphabet's Google. The debut of Grok 3 comes at a critical moment in the AI arms race, just days after DeepSeek unveiled its powerful open-source model and as Musk moves aggressively to expand xAI's influence.

«Grok-3 across the board is in a league of its own,» Musk said during a livestream alongside three xAI engineers late on Monday, adding the model outperforms its predecessor, Grok-2.

Elon Musk at the launch event explained the mission of Grok 3 and underscored its purpose and capabilities. A video of the tech mogul explaining Grok's mission was shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, accompanied by a quote from the Tesla CEO. Later, on Musk reposted the content on his own X account, according to TOI.
Talking about the Grok's mission, Elon Musk said, “The mission of xAI and Grok is to understand the universe. We want to answer the biggest questions: Where are the aliens? What’s the meaning of life? How does the universe end? To do that, we must rigorously pursue truth.”
