Who is Al Green, the Democratic Congressman removed for heckling Donald Trump's speech?
Al Green, a Democrat from Texas, was removed from the House of Representatives chamber on Tuesday night after repeatedly heckling President Donald Trump during his speech to a joint session of Congress. House Speaker Mike Johnson, a Republican from Louisiana, ordered Green's removal after multiple warnings.

Green, who represents a Houston district, has previously introduced articles of impeachment against Trump. As Trump delivered his remarks, Green interrupted multiple times before being escorted out.
«I'll accept the punishment,» Green said. «It's worth it to let people know that there's some of us who are going to stand up against this president's desire to cut Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security.»
After his removal, Green said he was particularly triggered when Trump claimed a «mandate» from the election. «Because he doesn't have a mandate, and he doesn't have a mandate to cut health care from poor people,» Green stated. He added, «This whole budget that he has is one that is going to cause Medicaid to be cut.»
Green’s ejection occurred three years after two Republican lawmakers, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia and Rep. Lauren Boebert of Colorado, repeatedly interrupted President Joe Biden during his State of the Union address. Neither was removed at the time.
