He is one of the most decorated junior golfers in the country. He is from Jacksonville in the state of Florida. Despite being a freshman at school, he became the youngest player to cut the Kory Ferry Tour when he finished 20th in the LECOM Suncoast classic in April. Further, in the upcoming PGA Tour, he has received a sponsor exemption to play in the tournament.

In 2023, he was named the American Junior Golf Association Player of the Year, becoming the youngest player to win the award. The previous record was held by Golfing legend Tiger Woods. In the same year, he also won the Junior PGA Championship and the Junior Players Championship which earned him a spot on the US Junior Ryder Cup Team.
Mike Russell thanked Rocket Mortgage for allowing him to make his PGA Tour debut. He described this as something as his dream ever since he started playing golf. He also added
