With BJP on the verge of reclaiming power in Delhi, speculation is mounting over who will be the next chief minister of the national capital.
Expressing confidence in BJP’s performance, the party’s Delhi unit chief, Virendra Sachdeva, stated, “The results so far are in line with our expectations, but we will wait for the final outcome.” He credited the party’s hard work and leadership for the impending victory, emphasizing that BJP fought the election on key issues concerning Delhi, while Arvind Kejriwal attempted to divert attention from them.
When asked about BJP’s chief ministerial candidate, Sachdeva indicated that the final decision would rest with the party’s central leadership.
According to television reports, BJP is leading in 46 seats, comfortably surpassing the majority mark, while AAP leads in 24 constituencies. Congress, which ruled Delhi from 1998 to 2013, is ahead in just one seat.
