Donald Trump has the backing of world's richest person- Elon Musk. Musk has gone all in for Trump. His pro-Trump America PAC has already spent $118 million and has the budget to spend tens of millions more, almost all of that coming from Musk himself. Republican nominee Trump has described Musk an «once-in-a-generation industry leader, and our broken federal bureaucracy could certainly benefit from his ideas and efficiency», according to Newsweek.
But this mutual respect and admiration between Elon Musk and Donald Trump has not always prevailed. Once a supporter of Democratic candidates such as Barack Obama and Hilary Clinton, how did Elon Musk begin championing conservative causes?

Musk first endorsed Trump in the wake of the assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania, on 13 July. Since then, the Tesla CEO has become a common fixture on the campaign trail, where he often delivers warnings that only Trump can «save» American democracy. The SpaceX CEO more vocal support for Donald Trump, the former President of the United States, seems to have surfaced around the same time as his Twitter takeover in November 2022. «I recommend voting for a Republican Congress, given that the Presidency is Democratic,» he posted on November 7.
«I have never been materially active in politics before, but this time I think civilization as we know it is on the line. If we want to preserve freedom and a meritocracy in America, then Trump
