Vivek Ramaswamy, along with Tesla CEO Elon Musk, has announced plans for a major reduction in U.S. federal government jobs. Both have been appointed in charge of the newly formed Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which aims to streamline government operations. At an event in Mar-a-Lago, Florida on Thursday, Ramaswamy expressed confidence in making significant cuts to the federal bureaucracy.
«We are in a position to start the mass deportations of millions of unelected federal bureaucrats out of the DC bureaucracy. That, too, is how we're going to save this country,» Ramaswamy said. He emphasized that the overhaul would be bold and decisive, with Musk bringing a «chainsaw» rather than a «chisel» to the bureaucratic restructuring. «We are going to be taking it to that bureaucracy. It's going to be a lot of fun,» Ramaswamy added.
Ramaswamy also expressed his belief that the U.S. is not a nation in decline, but rather one on the rise. «I think with what happened last week, we're back to being a nation in our ascent. A nation whose best days are actually still ahead of us,» he stated, drawing a comparison to the decline of the Roman Empire.
