Jordan Chiles, a two-time Olympian and Olympic gold medalist, finds herself at the center of a heated controversy following the women's floor exercise final at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Despite the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) ruling that led to Romanian gymnast Ana Barbosu being awarded the bronze medal, Chiles has made it clear that she has no intention of returning her own bronze medal, which she still holds, as per a report by Fox News.
The controversy began when Chiles, who initially finished fifth in the eight-woman final, saw her score boosted after Team USA coach Cecile Landi successfully appealed for an additional 0.1 points.

This adjustment propelled Chiles onto the podium, displacing Barbosu from the bronze medal position. The decision was met with immediate protest from Romania, which argued that the appeal was not made within the permitted one-minute time frame after Chiles' score was posted.
Romania’s appeal to CAS was ultimately successful, and the International Olympic Committee (IOC) decided to restore the podium to include Barbosu, stripping Chiles of her bronze medal title. Despite this ruling, Chiles remains steadfast, reportedly refusing to return the medal, according to the report by Fox News.
