'Wonka': When will it debut streaming on Max? Know about its director, cast, original story, and creative team
Max. Directed by Paul King, the prequel is based on the character from Roald Dahl’s best-selling children’s book, 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory'. The origin story is based on 1971 Gene Wilder’s 'Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory' and the 2005 remake with Johnny Depp, 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory'.
'Wonka' revolves around Chalamet and narrates the origin story of Willy Wonka, following him as a young man as he becomes «the world’s greatest inventor, magician and chocolate-maker.» It has been dubbed as Timothee Chalamet’s biggest movie at the international box office, although Warner Bros.'s 'Dune: Part Two', which will open on March 1, may surpass 'Wonka'.
Streaming Date
Warner Bros. Discovery announced Friday that Wonka will make an exclusive streaming debut on March 8 on Max. Besides,' Aquaman And The Last Kingdom' will be released on February 27 on Max.

The 'Wonka' ensemble includes Calah Lane, Mathew Baynton, Paterson Joseph, Sally Hawkins, Matt Lucas, Rowan Atkinson, Jim Carter, Rich Fulcher, Natasha Rothwell, Rakhee Thakrar, Tom Davis and Kobna Holdbrook-Smith.
Creative Team
The creative team that made the musical fantasy includes director of photography Chung-hoon Chung, production designer Nathan Crowley, editor Mark Everson, costume designer Lindy Hemming, and composer Joby Talbot. Besides, Neil Hannon of the band The Divine Comedy composed the original songs for the film.
