WTC Points Table: Will India still qualify for World Test Championship final after draw in Brisbane?
Despite gaining four points to take their tally to 114 overall, India’s PCT slipped from 57.29 to 55.88 with only their second draw in the ongoing WTC cycle. Australia also had their PCT shrink from 60.71 to 58.88 with this edition’s second draw.
The defending champions are still ranked second, behind South Africa (63.33), who are one win away from confirming their spot in next year’s WTC final at Lord’s in June 2025.
India's chances to play WTC final
India cannot afford another loss and can, at best, concede one more draw in the remaining two Tests this series to remain in contention to qualify for the WTC final. Meanwhile, Australia have four games pending in the cycle, with a two-match series to be played in Sri Lanka from late January.
If India win the remaining two matches, they will finish with 138 points and a PCT of 60.52, knocking Australia out of the WTC final race.
