Broda shared his observations about his Indian colleagues in Bangalore, whose work ethic stood out during his time at Amazon. In his post, Broda described his experience working with a technical team in Bangalore, recalling how his Indian colleagues routinely worked longer hours than his own 60-hour workweek. He noted that when he logged in at 7 am, they were already online, actively engaging in meetings at 10 am and even attending high-level reviews in the afternoon. He was particularly struck by their availability and commitment, mentioning that they would sometimes work as late as 3 am, Bangalore time.
Broda expressed admiration for the enthusiasm and energy exhibited by his colleagues despite the long hours. He recognised their work ethic as a powerful testament to workplace culture, emphasising that even though employees appeared willing to work extra hours, employers should be cautious and mindful of workloads, particularly across different time zones.
