WWE Royal Rumble 2024: Date, time, venue, everything you need to know
WWE Royal Rumble 2024 will take place in Tampa in the state of Florida in January next year. It is considered one of the five biggest wrestling events. Tampa also hosted WrestleMania in 2021. This will be the first time since 1995 that WWE Royal Rumble will take place in Tampa. The announcement was made a day after wrestling entertainment company WWE merged with mixed martial arts promotion company UFC to create a new media conglomerate TKO Group Holdings.

According to the press release issued by the WWE, the event will feature a 30-man and a 30-woman Royal Rumble match. The winner of each rumble will receive championship matches at WrestleMania 40, which will be held from April 6 and April 7 in Philadelphia. Besides, events like Summer Slam, Survivor Series, and WrestleMania will also be held in this bubble.
Royal Rumble Debut
The Royal Rumble was launched in 1988 as part of a televised event, but it became a standalone event in 1989. The Rumble traditionally serves as 'The Road to WrestleMania'.

A day before the announcement, the WWE and UFC merged on Tuesday to create TKO Group Holdings.
The UFC parent company Zuffa sold its majority stake to Endeavor, which was known as WME-IMG at that time.
