India International Convention and Expo Centre (IICC), which is named YashoBhoomi, in Dwarka will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday, which also marks the leader's birthday. He is also set to dedicate the extension of Delhi Airport Metro Express line from Dwarka Sector 21 to a new metro station at Dwarka Sector 25.
The operationalization of YashoBhoomi at Dwarka could bolster PM Modi's ambition to have a world-class infrastructure for hosting meetings, conferences, and exhibits in the nation.
«The soon-to-be-inaugurated 'Yashobhoomi' at Dwarka has state-of-the-art features and unparalleled facilities. It will stand out as one of the top convention and exhibition centres globally,» PM Modi wrote in a Facebook post while sharing the pictures.
Key highlights of YashoBhoomi
- The YashoBhoomi centre is built upon an area of more than 1.8 lakh square metre, while having a total project area of over 8.9 lakh square metre. The mega expo centre in Delhi is said to find its place among the world's largest MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions) facilities.
- The magnificent project was developed at a cost of about Rs 5400 crore and boasts to have an impressive Convention Centre, multiple exhibition halls and other facilities.
- The Main auditorium, the Grand ballroom, and 13 conference rooms make up the Convention Center's 15 convention rooms, which have a combined capacity of 11,000 delegates. The Convention Centre was constructed across an area of more than 73 000 square metres.
- The Convention Centre has the largest LED media facade in the nation. Meanwhile, in the plenary hall of the convention centre, a seating capacity of about 6,000 people is provided.
