Aryan Rajvansh, who made rap music videos on YouTube during the day, turned into an armed robber at night and shot a cab driver on June 23 during a robbery, ToI reported on June 26.
Rajvansh was arrested the following day after police tracked him to his hometown, Ayodhya, using various investigative methods, the report said.
Rajvansh, who completed his BTech in computer science from a college in Coimbatore in 2022, found himself unemployed. Despite his academic background, he devoted his time to creating music videos. «He completed his BTech nine months ago and then started making music videos,» police told the newspaper.
Two days before his arrest, Rajvansh gained police attention when he shot cab driver Kulbhushan Sharma after robbing him of his mobile phone and belongings.
Aryan's YouTube account, under the handle Er Arya, features several videos, some garnering thousands of views. One of his videos, made about five months ago, depicts the smashing and looting of a car. Additionally, three weeks prior, he released a video titled Vaardat, showing a masked person holding a gun.
On June 23, Aryan had gone to visit a friend in Dwarka Mor to collect some luggage. Around 1 am, he booked a cab through the Ola app to travel to the ISBT Kashmiri Gate area. With no money to pay the fare, Aryan resorted to using a gun he had.
«He was in a financial crunch so he brandished his pistol and robbed the taxi driver on the way. As the vehicle was running out of fuel, Aryan asked the driver to stop at a petrol pump and
