alimony case, domestic violence and divorce petition, all of them. The wife even filed an FIR against his 85-year-old father, his son from first marriage, his aunt's son, his relatives and his ex-wife who lives in the USA. There was also a twist in this case as the lawyer representing the wife said she wanted to get back with him. However, the husband declined this offer and sought divorce on the ground of cruelty. Moreover, the husband filed a police complaint against his wife claiming that she threatened him with dire consequences like taking her own life and filing false criminal cases against him and his family. The primary reason behind the long police, family court, supreme court proceedings was demand for more alimony by wife after taking Rs 12 lakh from her husband during the course of their married life. This was despite his wife having Rs 1.05 crore worth of bank FDs, cash, etc. His wife argued that he had both the means and ability to provide more alimony. She also claimed that her husband had Rs 5,000 crore worth of assets, a USA based business and multiple house properties in Pune, Bhopal and in other cities. While the husband was ready to offer Rs 20 to 40 lakh as permanent alimony, his wife demanded at least Rs 500 crore and one of the properties owned by the husband's 85-year-old father.

Nitin Gadkari has expressed strong opposition to live-in relationships and same-sex marriages, calling both “wrong” and stating they could destabilize society. In a recent YouTube podcast, Gadkari said that same-sex marriages would «collapse the social structure» and warned that their legalization could lead to the acceptance of other controversial practices. «Same-sex marriage would lead to the collapse of the social structure,» Gadkari said, adding that if such marriages were allowed, it could pave the way for future governments to consider enabling men to have multiple wives. «Both live-in relationships and same-sex marriages are inappropriate,» he added. Gadkari also shared insights from his visit to the British Parliament, where he said he asked UK leaders about the key challenges facing their country. He recalled that they identified a major issue as the growing trend of young men and women in European nations opting for live-in relationships instead of marriage. In the podcast, Gadkari stressed the importance of balancing the sex ratio and emphasized that married couples should have children to ensure societal stability. “If the sex ratio reaches a point where there are 1,500 women and only 1,000 men, we may have to allow men to have two wives,” he said.

«We now have more smallcap folios than largecap. The aum for smallcap and largecap indices is almost alike and they are buying the same illiquid stock which is creating this very large dislocation. How does this unwind?,» says Jigar Mistry, Co-Founder, Buoyant Capital. Help us with your take and your outlook for the Indian markets for 2025 because 2024 has been a very interesting one, but 2025 a lot of these key drivers could be there, there could be rate cuts, the new us president-elect will be there. So, what is your outlook and expectation from the Indian markets? Jigar Mistry: We need to take a step back from the overall equity experience that we seem to be having. If you look at your over a 5 or 10-year rolling returns, the EPS growth and the share price growth at the index level largecap or smallcap or at the stocks with long enough history it has always aligned. The current observation, however, suggests that especially in the smallcap space you are seeing a huge dislocation which is something that has not really happened before.
