Corporate India on the whole, is still at a ‘progressive’ stage (L2), finds the analysis of 251 organisations, including 40 Nifty100 Companies and 8 of the top 10 Indian business houses, by talent and leadership consulting firm BasilTree Consulting — where organisations have formal strategies and defined initiatives, but DEI is yet to become a true business driver. The more mature companies – belonging to the Nifty-100 list, are in the L3 bracket.

markets Digital PTC President RAI Discrimination NHPC no less than East India Company, drain of wealth happening from J&K: Congress' Tariq Hameed Karra
Jammu and Kashmir Congress president Tariq Hamid Karra on Saturday said that National Hydroelectric Power Corporation is no less than East India Company and is draining the resources of the J&K, besides taking undue consultancy charges from the regional entities. Karra, while speaking on the budget presented by the Omar Abdullah led government in J&K Assembly, also accused the NHPC of inappropriately taking Rs 300 crore as consultancy charges over the last ten years from the regional entity. “A corporate entity which can be considered nothing less than the East India Company…I am talking about NHPC. Post the commissioning of 900 MW Baglihar power project in 2008 which was independently executed and commissioned by state arm JK Power Development Corporation, NHPC came back as Chenab Valley Power Projects (CVPP) — a joint venture between JKSPDC (49% stake), NHPC(49% stake) & PTC (2% stake),” said Karra in the assembly.

Boxing wellness film Actor innovations stars 'No independent producers, no new stars, fake BO numbers': Why Vivek Agnihotri is rejoicing over a 'falling' Bollywood
Vivek Agnihotri is rather disillusioned with current Bollywood. Taking to X on Saturday, the ‘Kashmir Files’ director went on an extensive rant against the sore lack of independent producers and new actors in the industry who are hungry to tell a story and eager to take risks and experiment. He also added that directors who are enthusiastic about making good content have moved on to OTT. “Today, Bollywood has hardly any independent producers. No new producers. No fresh ideas. No innovative distribution or marketing strategies. A few years ago, there were a dozen studios — now just two or three remain, and they too are monopolistic and here for reasons other than filmmaking. The passion for cinema has been replaced by corporate greed and agenda-driven content,” he wrote. He elaborated on the challenges confronting the film industry, emphasizing that its very survival hinges on the presence of bankable star-actors. However, he lamented that there is an alarming dearth of promising new talent. When filmmakers seek to cast actors between the ages of 21 and 35, they find themselves at a loss—both male and female actors in this bracket are scarce.

Bangladesh — Rohingya refugees in crammed Bangladeshi camps say they are worried about a U.S. decision to cut food rations by half beginning next month, while a refugee official says the reduction will impact the nutrition of more than 1 million refugees and create «social and mental pressure.» President Donald Trump abruptly stopped most foreign aid and dismantled the U.S. Agency for International Development, which has significantly hampered the global humanitarian sector. Trump's Jan. 20 executive order froze the funding for a 90-day review. The World Food Program, the main U.N. food agency, recently announced that cuts to food rations will take effect from April 1 in Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh, where dozens of camps are inhabited by Rohingya refugees.

The paper, one of the most detailed templates for a Ukraine ceasefire to have been published, is a sign of how quickly the topic of planning for a ceasefire has gone from a controversial and theoretical exercise to an urgent and practical issue.

handwritten budget in Hindi, reflecting his hands-on approach and commitment to the budget preparation process. Choudhary, a former IAS who quit service to join politics as he saw it as a bigger medium to serve the public, literally burnt midnight oil, hardly sleeping for a couple of hours in the days leading to the March 4 presentation of the Budget for the fiscal year starting April 1 in the Chhattisgarh assembly. The rare act that displayed a sense of ownership and dedication to the state's financial planning and goals stood out, especially since most budget documents are typically prepared by a team of officials or typed out on computers. «I was writing my own (Budget) speech and I realised that a handwritten document expresses my feelings, my emotions, my vision, my commitment, and my attachment more. And so, I thought, I should write in my own handwriting,» he said.

Has the GOI taken a decision to cut Tariffs under pressure by PM Modi's close friend — Mr. Donald Trump?
