Lockheed’s F-35 faces a bigger threat than China—It’s Donald Trump’s foreign policy
“I am concerned that pure politics could damage our prospects in future competitions,” admitted an executive at a leading US contractor. The fear? That Trump’s erratic foreign policy could leave allies exposed—or worse, that the US could remotely disable their aircraft if political relations soured.

Man’s online order of pizzas, chips and garlic bread gets delivered about 16,000 km away in a different country. What happened?
Oisin Lenehan, a 29-year-old originally from Belfast, Ireland, was enjoying a casual evening with his friends Kyle and Sarah at their home in Rye, Australia. Wanting to treat the group, he decided to order dinner through Uber Eats. With a couple of drinks and a relaxed atmosphere, he confidently placed an order for two pizzas, chips, and garlic bread. However, what seemed like a routine takeaway soon turned into a comedy of errors. Lenehan unknowingly selected an old address from his Uber Eats history, sending the entire order to a hotel in Dublin where he had stayed months earlier during Christmas. It was only after confirming the purchase that he realized the mistake. Shocked and amused, he immediately tried to resolve the issue while his friends laughed at the mix-up.

Max Verstappen 'frustrated' as Red Bull decides to sack Liam Lawson after two F1 races
Liam Lawson's first Formula One season with Red Bull is coming to an end on a disappointing note after just two races. New Zealand’s Lawson is facing the axe after a disappointing show in the 2025 season opening Australian Formula One at Melbourne and the Chinese GP in Shanghai. The decision by Red Bull management to replace Lawson with Japanese driver Yuki Tsunoda has not gone down well in New Zealand as well as the current F1 world champion Max Verstappen. The latter is also the Red Bull flagbearer and Lawson's teammate on the F1 Grand Prix circuit. Verstappen is reported to be frustrated by Red Bull deciding to sack Lawson after only two races. He stated that Racing Bulls, the feeder of Red Bull where Lawson used to race before his elevation, cars are easier to drive. “That Racing Bulls car is easier to drive than ours. I notice that when I talk to Liam. Last year the difference between him and Yuki wasn't that big, I thought. Otherwise the team wouldn't have made the choice to put Liam in at Red Bull,” said the F1 world champion. New Zealand Minister for Sport Mark Mitchell jumped into the controversy backing Lawson. “I'm disappointed if he isn't racing in the Red Bull, but I'm really excited that if he's at least back in the Racing Bull, that he can go and show everyone what he's capable of," he told New Zealand media.

China President Xi tests US allies in Indo-Pacific as Trump is busy elsewhere
Xi Jinping is making China’s presence more felt across the Indo-Pacific region by testing US allies on sensitive issues, as Donald Trump’s attention is taken up elsewhere. From sending warships off Australia’s coast for unprecedented shooting drills to flying a record number of “grey zone” balloons around Taiwan, and putting pressure on Thailand over human rights issues, Beijing is ramping up efforts to project power in the region. China also issued a strongly worded warning on Taiwan to Tokyo — which doesn’t officially recognize Taipei — against “colluding” with separatists. Trump’s sudden embrace of Russia, skepticism of NATO allies and tariffs that punish friendly nations have fueled concerns about the US as a reliable security partner in Asia, where Washington has for decades provided a buffer to Beijing.

Asian stocks advance on Trump’s tariff signals
Asian stocks rose early Tuesday after US equities enjoyed one of their best sessions of the year, fueled by signs that President Donald Trump’s trade sanctions will be narrower than feared. Indexes in Australia and Japan advanced after Wall Street’s risk-on bid lifted shares of nearly all stripes in a rebound from a sharp selloff that has challenged the notion of US exceptionalism. The Nasdaq 100 added 2.2%. Hong Kong stocks were poised to drop at the open. Treasuries were little changed in Asian trading following a nine basis point climb in the 10-year yield to 4.33% on Monday.

Delhi Capitals, Lucknow Super Giants aim for strong IPL start under new leadership
Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Super Giants, under new captains, will be eager to make a strong start to their IPL campaign when they face off here on Monday. For a second year running, the Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Stadium will host two home matches for Delhi Capitals. Pant, who had been a Delhi Capitals' player throughout his IPL career and also their captain, left the franchise ahead of the mega auction last year and was snapped up by LSG for a record price of Rs 27 crore. While his pay cheque will keep the Indian wicketkeeper-batter in limelight through the course of this season, it will also present Pant an opportunity to make a strong case for himself in the white-ball formats as he didn't get a game during the recent Champions Trophy. On the other hand, KL Rahul, who led LSG for two years since their IPL debut, has switched to Delhi Capitals, where he would be a vital cog in their plans, not as a leader but as a key batting mainstay, with Indian all-rounder Axar Patel being appointed captain. Like Mumbai Indians, DC too were spoilt for choices when it came to picking their captain as they also have Faf du Plessis apart from Rahul but the franchise opted for all-round Patel, whose career graph has been on a rise.
