What does an emerging Squad in the Indo-Pacific mean for India?
Quad, Aukus, the US-Philippines-Japan trilateral and the US-Japan-South Korea trilateral. The Philippines, Japan and Australia are not treaty allies; however, each of these countries shares a bilateral treaty alliance with the US. Thus, the idea behind the Squad centres on the desire of all four democracies to deepen their level of integration beyond the hub-and-spokes format at a time when China has been militarizing the South China Sea at the expense of the rules-based order of the Indo-Pacific.

People in India try to find reason not to pick Kohli, he's my first pick: Ponting
India try to «find reasons» to not pick Virat Kohli in the national side and said the charismatic former skipper would be his «first pick» for the T20 World Cup in the Americas. Kohli's sublime form in the ongoing IPL has seen him leading the run-chart with 708 runs from 14 innings, though questions keep cropping up about his strike rate at the top of the order. «He (Kohli) is the first pick for me for India. So, class and experience like that, you can't replace. »It's funny with Virat. I think people in India just always try to find a reason not to pick him or a reason why he's maybe not as good as some of these other guys in the T20 game," the former Australian captain and Delhi Capitals head coach told ICC.

South Africa launches 'nomad visa' for remote workers
South Africa’s Department of Home Affairs has refiled significant changes to its work-permit regime, allowing the creation of a "nomad visa" for remote workers. The changes, gazetted on May 20, became law after a previous withdrawal due to procedural lapses in public commentary periods. The new visa aims to attract remote workers employed and paid by foreign companies, provided they earn at least 1 million rand (approximately $55,404) annually. This visa also includes a short-term tax exemption. This move, recommended by the office of the president, addresses criticism from major foreign-owned employers struggling to get technicians and executives into the country due to South Africa's complex permit system. The system's delays, exacerbated by a lack of local skilled workers, have left companies in a bind, with some applicants waiting over a year for a work permit.

Cruel Summer: Rethinking how to live, work in a world that is getting warmer
Indian Institute for Human Settlements, says the situation it describes, of the impact of high temperature and humidity, is a cause for concern in India. “As relative humidity increases, it will become harder for us to perspire and reject heat from our bodies.” In such situations, the only cooling technology that works is air conditioning, but less than 10% of Indian households have ACs, which, in turn, expel heat and contribute to warming. As this year’s summer, with its extended heat waves and record temperatures, warns, how to adapt to a warmer world is no longer a hypothetical question.

Virat Kohli reveals career-changing match in 2008, two heartbreaks of his cricketing journey
Virat Kohli opened up on two figures who helped him during his initial career and recalled the two «heartbreaks» he experienced during his peak of batting form back in 2016. Virat, representing Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) will be in action against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Saturday at Bengaluru. With RCB at seventh place with six wins, seven losses and 12 points and CSK in the fourth place with seven wins, six losses and 14 points, this match is a knockout match that will decide which team gets to join Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Rajasthan Royals (RR), Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the playoffs. Speaking to JioCinema along with former cricketer Suresh Raina, Virat revealed that back in 2008 during the Emerging Players tournament in Australia, the then-chief selector Dilip Vengasarkar and Raina pushed his name for the national side. That tournament used to hold a lot of value back then since a lot of great talent would use that as a platform for getting a regular national spot. It was held from 2005-2011.
