COST Citi FIVE Aviat Airlines Parke Airlines seek govt intervention over Ahmedabad airport plan to hike fees for charter aircraft during World Cup
Ahmedabad airport's proposal to sharply raise user charges for charter flights during the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup. The airport has increased ground handling charges by more than 10 times, sparking a backlash from major airlines, who have now sought government intervention, arguing that such a sudden increase is illegal and will make charter operations unviable. The Airport Economic Regulatory Authority (AERA), which fixes airport tariffs, for a period of five years, issued a notice on Friday evening saying that levying charges and tariffs that have not been approved by the authority is illegal. “A few airport operators are levying charges without taking approval, resorting to unethical practices. All airport operators are directed to refrain from levying charges which have not been approved by the authority,” AERA said in a notice seen by ET. People familiar with the matter said AERA has also summoned the top management of the Ahmedabad airport on According to the tariff list issued by the Ahmedabad airport in September, the airport has levied a minimum of Rs 265,000 as general aviation charges for any charter flight carrying more than 15 passengers.

Target Ripple Action Puzzle Parke gossips open View: Will RBI squeeze banks with an open market operation?
RBI. Its ripples have not dampened the festive spirit as the world beyond the money market is oblivious to the cryptic war of words. For most, little has changed: the businessman is not charged a higher rate on loans, the homebuyer is paying the same EMI, and stock traders are fine with governor Shaktikanta Das leaving interest rates untouched. However, the rift has left bankers dealing in the more obscure bond market baffled and angry. The dense drama has laid open RBI’s dilemma and the confusion of the bond brigade. The protagonists are an affable governor who wants to tame inflation without hiking interest rates, particularly amid festivities, his articulate, pony-tailed deputy, Michael Patra, who has to justify RBI’s actions, words, and silence, and bankers who lend and borrow to manage liquidity while taking cues from the market, rivals and RBI to price loans and deposits. At the heart of the debate is how banks handle their daily surplus or deficit liquidity vis-à-vis how RBI wants them to do it. While RBI wants banks to manage liquidity without undermining the monetary policy framework, they prefer doing what is convenient. There is no middle ground with bankers arguing that the market has transformed, and RBI must adjust to the new realities. What has changed?

UPS Citi DISH DAL What Goa can do to promote its cuisine beyond beach shacks
fish thalis is the salad. Alongside fried fish, fish curry, sukhem (a drier fish or shellfish dish), bhaji, solkadi (coconut milk with sour kokum), pickle, a sweet dish and rice, there is also a mound of chopped cabbage, usually mixed with coriander leaves and maybe carrots. Most people just ignore it. Some say it’s a health risk because bowls of raw salad in restaurant kitchens attract bacteria. But others start with it, perhaps remembering admonishments to eat it because it’s healthy. I try avoiding it but invariably eat it in the end, mixing it with leftover rice and solkadi. No one ever claims to want the salad, yet it’s inescapable. A friend who surveys thalis across Goa even says that customers will always note, unfavourably, a lack of salad. The second big mystery about Goan fish thalis is why the state government feels they are at risk. What else can explain the recent directive that all beach shacks must offer it, at least in its basic fish-curry-rice form? Fish thalis are available across the state, from cities to villages, in versions ranging from basic to the monumental Bhatkar, or landlord’s thali, served at the restaurant of the Government Rest House in Madgaon, which offers more than 25 items, including chicken and multiple types of fish and shellfish.

More than one million people in the northern part of the crowded enclave have been ordered to flee ahead of the expected assault, an exodus that aid groups said would set off a humanitarian disaster.
