Bitcoin eyes $60K with better than expected inflation data in the US
Bitcoin experienced steady growth over the past week recovering from a low of $54,000 to currently trading at $58,000.The week began with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) releasing a comprehensive report on global crypto scams in 2023, revealing staggering losses. The U.S. topped the list, with over $4.8 billion lost to crypto scams, followed by Canada and the UK. India ranked fifth, with reported losses exceeding $44 million. To avoid falling for such scams, one must Research thoroughly before investing, avoid too-good-to-be-true offers and only use trusted platforms for investing. The presidential debate between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris was the most anticipated, where the crypto community expected a focus on crypto regulation. However, the debate largely centered on other pressing issues such as economic uncertainty, inflation, and abortion rights, with no mention of crypto. This omission left many in the crypto community disappointed, leading to brief selling pressure on Bitcoin. Despite this dip, Bitcoin quickly recovered within a few hours. The same day saw the release of the Consumer Price Index (CPI) data, which showed better-than-expected inflation numbers. This data provided certainty to the crypto community that there will surely be a rate cut in the upcoming FOMC meeting strengthening the market sentiment.

Instagram Launches New 'Teen Accounts' with Privacy Controls Amid Growing Concerns
Instagram announced tighter privacy settings for younger users on Tuesday. These restrictions include the requirement for ‘Teen Accounts’ and parental controls that limit what children can view. All Instagram accounts belonging to users under the age of 18 in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia will become ‘Teen Accounts’ within 60 days and be set to private by default. Besides other new privacy settings and limitations, the new account type, called Teen Accounts, will only allow messages from users they follow or are already connected to. It will also put users in sleep mode between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m. to encourage sleep, and it will give users access to the most restrictive tier of the app's settings for viewing sensitive content. Wetherspoon Pubs at Risk: The Complete List of Locations Facing Potential Closures Across the UK
pub chain has several listed for sale. The well-known pub chain J D Wetherspoon is still looking for buyers for a number of its UK locations, including notable ones in Felixstowe, Swindon, and Cardiff. More venues have been added to the sales list since the initial announcement in 2023. If buyers are found for the chosen properties across Scotland, England, and Wales, the current portfolio of 790 pubs could be reduced by 10. Nevertheless, a few bars that were up for sale have managed to avoid closing and will continue to operate under the Wetherspoon name. Local customers will be surprised to learn that the Thomas Drummond in Fleetwood, which was initially put up for sale in February, has since been taken down from the market. Claire Buxton, the manager of the establishment, expressed her happiness at the decision, stating that it would be a delight for both patrons and staff. She added that they look forward to serving the Fleetwood community for many more years to come. Also Read: Why the iconic yellow school bus in the U.S is becoming a relic of another era?

Tata, the 155-year-old conglomerate, is preparing for future demands: N Chandrasekaran
Tata Group is transitioning into green businesses, semiconductor manufacturing, and mobile phone part production to prepare for future demands, said Chairman N Chandrasekaran in an interview with the Financial Times. This move includes Tata Steel's decision to close blast furnaces at its UK unit, resulting in 2,500 job cuts as the company shifts to green steel-making. Chandrasekaran stressed the necessity of these steps, stating, «However painful...these are transitions that need to be done.» Tata Steel has incurred a loss of 5 billion pounds on the UK business since acquiring it in 2007 as part of the Corus Group. Leaning towards sustainable practices, Chandrasekaran has been steering Tata Group towards electric vehicles and renewable energy while managing debt and profitability. He advised the CEOs of various Tata entities to focus on financial fitness, saying, “every company has to be focused on financial fitness… don't worry about growth, fix the fitness. Performance will come."
