Former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried, facing multiple criminal charges related to alleged misuse of user funds, reportedly denied many of the allegations against him in documents containing a draft of a thread on X (formerly Twitter) that he never posted. 

Emma Coronel Aispuro, the wife of the infamous Mexican drug lord Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman, has been released from federal custody. Coronel Aispuro, who was convicted for aiding her husband in running his multibillion-dollar criminal empire, reached a plea deal with federal prosecutors in 2021. Her charges included money laundering conspiracy and engaging in transactions with a foreign narcotics trafficker. Coronel was released following 27 months of incarceration. Currently, she is subject to supervised release.

SDNY Judge Lewis Kaplan has rejected a plea from Sam Bankman-Fried's legal team to release the FTX founder before his upcoming trial to better prepare for the legal proceedings.

The host was Wyclef Jean, and notable appearances were made by Doug E. Fresh, Skeng, MYA, Spice, Morgan Heritage, Konshens, Karlie Redd, and Michael Rainey Jr. The Caribbean Music Awards celebrated various forms of Caribbean music, including reggae, dancehall, soca and zouk. The event was livestreamed via Tempo Networks/YouTube and Instagram through @CaribbeanEliteMagazine.

Lawyers representing former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried, or SBF, have reportedly not asked for a different trial date in order to prepare, but a federal judge has offered a limited window to do so.

A federal judge will hear Sam Bankman-Fried's defense argument against a newly released batch of evidence provided by the U.S. Department of Justice (DoJ) on Aug. 25. According to Bankman-Fried's attorneys, an additional 4 million pages of discovery were released less than six weeks before his trial, scheduled for October 3. 

Sam Bankman-Fried's attorneys have raised concerns regarding the measures taken by authorities for their client's upcoming criminal trial in October. In an August 25 submission to the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, the legal representatives argued that the measures proposed by the prosecutors were not adequate for the FTX founder to fully prepare for his trial.
