Airlines WhatsApp track Traffic International Vistara flight makes priority landing in Mumbai
Vistara flight from Delhi made a priority landing here on Wednesday due to a «minor» technical issue, the airline said. The aircraft landed safely and is currently undergoing inspection, it added. «Shortly before landing, a minor technical snag was detected on Vistara flight UK 995 that was operating from Delhi to Mumbai on 14 August 2024,» a Vistara spokesperson said in a statement. As a precautionary step, the pilots requested the Air Traffic Controller for «priority landing», and landed safely at Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, Vistara said without sharing the number of people on board.

International Delhi airport's new T1 terminal to be operational from Aug 17
Delhi airport operator DIAL on Wednesday said the new T1 terminal will be operational from August 17, with IndiGo and SpiceJet set to shift a significant part of their domestic operations to the new terminal. Operations at the old T1 were suspended in late June following a roof collapse incident. The new terminal was developed as part of the phase 3A expansion project by the Delhi International Airport Ltd (DIAL). «As per the plan, SpiceJet would shift their 13 flights to Terminal 1 from August 17 and subsequently IndiGo would move back their 34 flights from T2 and T3 to T1, from September 2,» DIAL said in a release.

Section 377 had previously criminalized «sodomy» and "unnatural sex," but was partially decriminalized by the Supreme Court in 2018, stated the plea. The bench, led by Acting Chief Justice Manmohan and including Justice Tushar Rao Gedela, has given the Union of India's counsel ten days to take instructions on the grievance raised in the PIL and fixed the matter for further hearing on August 27, 2024.

Officials have pointed to significant procedural lapses and malpractices by the arrested GST officer, Babita Sharma, who has since been suspended. The fraudulent refunds were reportedly approved without proper verification of input tax credit, which has resulted in a substantial loss to the government’s exchequer. In the meanwhile, the Ajay Singh-promoted SpiceJet issued a statement saying, «The passenger advisory issued by MIAL has been withdrawn. Our flight operations in and out of Mumbai are operating normally. SpiceJet and MIAL have worked collaboratively to swiftly resolve a minor financial matter.”

SpiceJet seems to be mounting as its engine lessors — Team France 01 SAS and Sunbird France 02 SAS — on Monday rejected its promoter Ajay Singh’s offer to pledge his personal shares, equivalent to the outstanding dues of $2.5 million, towards discharge of the airline’s liability. Senior counsel, Sandeep Sethi, appearing for Spicejet, told the Delhi High Court that Singh is willing to pledge his unencumbered shares towards discharge of the airline’s liability with the HC and the same can be encashed if it failed to pay till September 30. “We are not putting any conditions. The court can pass orders for immediate release if we don’t pay between now and September 30,” he argued. However, the lessors rejected the offer, saying they don’t want “pledge of shares of a company whose existence is shaky…The pledge is not acceptable. We have given them a long leash. We want our engines back. And we have been asking for disclosure of Singh’s assets since January,” senior counsel Raj Shekar Rao told a Bench of Justice Manmeet Pritam Singh Arora.
