The impact is most visible during the lunch hours when the usual hustle and bustle have given way to mostly empty tables. The lunch business is “almost next to nil”, said Priyank Sukhija, chief executive of First Fiddle Restaurants that operates outlets of brands such as Lord of the Drinks, Miso Sexy, Diablo, Tamasha and The Flying Saucer Café.

When I insisted, he tried to push me and said that I was not allowed to enter the board meeting.»

New Delhi: The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) on Friday said that its intervetion led to the arrest of 23 accused persons in Rajasthan for allegedly selling girls, mostly minors on stamp papers for physical abuse and sexual assault in various parts of the country and abroad. The NHRC observed that given the registration of cases involving the selling of girls in some communities in the recent past, it appears that the practice is still continuing unabated. It has said that this practice requires to be curbed forthwith in totality and stringent steps be taken by all the stakeholders.

DGCA) on Friday issued a show cause notice to Air India over recent incidents of long flight delays in which passengers ostensibly faced significant discomfort, which the regulator said were in violation of various norms prescribed by it. The aviation regulator mentioned the inordinate delay of two international flights—AI 183 from Delhi to San Francisco on May 30 and AI 179 from Mumbai to San Francisco on May 24. “It has come to the notice of DGCA that flight Al-179 dated 24.05.2024 and flight Al-183 dated 30.05.2024 were inordinately delayed and passengers were put to discomfort due to insufficient cooling in the cabin, " the show cause notice reviewed by ET said.

Kumar was arrested on May 18 and sent to police custody for five days by a magisterial court, which observed that his anticipatory bail plea had become infructuous because of his arrest. The FIR against Kumar was registered on May 16 under various Indian Penal Code (IPC) provisions, including those related to criminal intimidation, assault or criminal force on a woman with the intent to disrobe, and attempt to commit culpable homicide.

Delhi airport operator DIAL on Friday said its wildlife hazard management team is taking various mitigating measures to limit bird strikes in the airfield. The Delhi International Airport Ltd (DIAL), a consortium led by the GMR Group, also conducted an awareness campaign this week in the Rangpuri Pahari area near the airport to educate the local community about the dangers of wildlife strikes, particularly bird strikes. Rangpuri Pahari, located on the approach path of runway 29L/11R, was organised to address the increasing incidents of bird strikes observed in this area, especially during the monsoon season, according to a release. DIAL also said its dedicated Wildlife Hazard Management (WHM) team is actively engaged in various mitigation measures to limit bird strikes within the airfield.
