India, Bangladesh border forces vow to stop attacks on security personnel
India and Bangladesh Saturday agreed to undertake joint efforts to «bring down to absolute minimum» the incidents of attack on BSF personnel by criminals from the neighbouring country along the 4,096-km-long International Border (IB) shared by them, an official statement said. The bi-annual Director General (DG) level talks between the Border Security Force (BSF) and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) ended in Dhaka with the signing of a joint record of discussions. The Indian delegation led by BSF DG Nitin Agrawal travelled to Bangladesh for the 54th edition of these talks held between March 5-9 at the BGB headquarters at Pilkhana in Dhaka. BGB DG Maj Gen Mohammad Ashrafuzzaman Siddiqui headed the Bangladeshi delegation.

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday said positive discussions were held in Delhi on the Mahayuti alliance for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections and «80 per cent» of the issues have been resolved. Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday held talks for seat sharing in Maharashtra with coalition partners Shiv Sena chief Eknath Shinde and NCP president Ajit Pawar. Fadnavis was also present in the meeting. The Mahayuti alliance comprises the BJP, Shiv Sena and NCP. Speaking to reporters in Nagpur, Fadnavis said, «Very positive discussions were held in the meeting yesterday. I can say that 80 per cent of our issues have been solved, and talks are going on for the remaining 20 per cent. And, I believe that the remaining issues will be resolved, and a good alliance will be formed.»

Delhi murder: Father killed son to teach wife a lesson, avenge misbehaviour
Ranglal Singhal, the 54-year-old man who was arrested from Jaipur for the alleged murder of his 29-year-old son in south Delhi's Devli, has revealed the reason behind the killing. During police interrogation, Singhal confessed stating that he wanted to avenge his son's misbehavior and physical abuse towards him. He also aimed to teach a lesson to his wife, who supported their son, by killing him a day before his wedding. According to the investigators, the trigger for the murder was a brawl that occurred on Wednesday. However, Singhal had been contemplating killing his son for the past few months. He hired three contract killers, aged between 22 and 25, from the same locality and paid them Rs 75,000 for the job. The deal was fixed at Rs 1.5 lakh.

ED attaches assets worth Rs 367 crore in Bhushan Steel 'bank fraud' case
Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Friday said it has attached immovable assets worth Rs 367 crore in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and some cities in Odisha as part of a money-laundering probe linked to an alleged bank-loan fraud against Bhushan Steel Limited (BSL). A provisional order has been issued under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) to attach the assets that were held «in the name of benamidars/shell entities through dummy directors so as to conceal them and to ensure that they are out of the reach of law enforcement agencies», the ED has said in a statement. After completing the corporate insolvency resolution process (CIRP), BSL was taken over by Tata Steel Limited in 2018.
