Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) M K Meena stated, «In the incident which happened today, the police post in-charge who was seen in the video has been suspended with immediate effect. Necessary disciplinary action is also being taken.»
The incident occurred near Inderlok Metro Station around 2 pm during the 'Asar ki Namaz.' Locals were praying outside as the mosque was filled to capacity. The sub-inspector was caught on video kicking and hitting individuals who were peacefully offering prayers. Angry locals blocked the road and demanded action against the policeman, leading to heightened security in the area.
The Delhi Police swiftly responded to the incident, with Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) M K Meena stating that the police post in-charge seen in the video has been suspended, and necessary disciplinary action is being taken. The police took cognizance of the video and initiated a probe.
