Narendra Modi on Saturday said the excitement generated by the success of Chandrayaan-3 has to be channelised to power scientific temper among youngsters to realise the dream of a developed India by 2047. Addressing a function organised at the airport here by the BJP to celebrate the success of Chandrayaan-3 and welcome the prime minister on his return from his two-nation tour, Modi said that at the BRICS Summit in South Africa and during his visit to Greece, he received several congratulatory messages over the success of the lunar mission. Modi was welcomed at the Delhi airport by BJP president J P Nadda and Lok Sabha members from the national capital, while scores of people had gathered at the function to celebrate the Chandrayaan-3 landing on the Moon. The prime minister also spoke about his brief stopover in Bengaluru on Saturday morning, during which he met ISRO scientists and took the decision to name the landing point of the spacecraft as «Shiv Shakti».

Delhi court allows Karti Chidambaram to travel to France, UK

National Exhibition of Art 2023 to be held in Delhi next week
National Exhibition of Art will be organised at the Lalit Kala Akademi campus here from August 28, veteran painter and Akademi chairman V Nagdas announced on Friday. The annual art event will be inaugurated by actor Manoj Joshi, writer Chandraprakash Dwivedi and artist Vasudeo Kamath at Kamani Auditorium. The National Exhibition of Art (NEA) every year calls for works of visual art from different genres, including painting, sculpture, print making, photography, digital art, video art and installations. The exhibition will showcase works by a total of 20 artists from across India, who were selected for the National Akademi Award from a total of 2,291 applicants with 5,714 entries. The 20 exhibiting artists will receive the award at the inaugural ceremony in the form of a plaque, a certificate and a cash prize of Rs 2 lakh. Talking about the exhibition and award, Nagdas said the NEA is the most anticipated art event of the country and the Akademi Awards bring artists name, fame and future opportunities. The Lalit Kala Akademi (LKA) has devised a few collateral and complementary events to add more colour to the NEA, said the chairman. «There will be illustrated lectures, curatorial walks and interactive gallery sessions at the LKA while the NEA is on.

E-pharmacy draft rules: DCGI holds fresh talks with all stakeholders
DCGI) on Thursday held fresh consultations with stakeholders on the draft rules to regulate e-pharmacies, amid the Delhi High Court asking the government to inform it about the outcome of deliberations on the draft rules with stakeholders. DGCA inspection finds lapses in Air India's internal safety audits
DGCA) has found lapses in internal safety audits of Air India and the regulator is probing the matter, according to officials. When contacted, an Air India spokesperson said that all airlines are subject to regular safety audits by regulators and other bodies. «Air India actively engages in such audits to continually assess and strengthen our processes,» the spokesperson said in a statement and added that the airline directly addresses any matters raised with the authority concerned. According to the inspection report submitted to the DGCA, the airline was supposed to carry out regular safety spot checks in various areas of operations such as cabin surveillance, cargo, ramp and load but during a random inspection of 13 safety points, the team found that the airline prepared false reports in all 13 cases. «Moreover, when cross-verified with CCTV, recordings, auditee statements, shift register documents, GD (General Declaration) list, passenger manifest etc, it is understood that all the aforesaid 13 spot checks shown to be carried out in stations Mumbai, Goa and Delhi were verified and were established to have not been actually performed,» the two-member team said in the 'Deficiency Reporting Form' (DRF).
