A team of doctors in Delhi has recently treated a 41-year-old patient with high-risk myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) with a life-saving bone marrow transplant. MDS are a group of disorders caused when something disrupts the production of blood cells. In certain cases, MDS may progress to leukemia.

The Supreme Court on Monday came down heavily on the Delhi government for its inability to provide funds for construction of the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) project and directed it to furnish details of funds spent on advertisements in the last three financial years.

Bhim Army chief Chandra Shekhar Aazad have told police that they were «hurt» by his recent remarks, a senior police officer said on Sunday. Aazad was injured when assailants opened fire on his car in Deoband in Uttar Pradesh's Saharanpur district on Wednesday and the four people were arrested from Ambala in Haryana on Saturday and brought to Saharanpur. In a statement issued here on Sunday, Special Director General of Police (Law and Order) Prashant Kumar identified the arrested accused as Vikas alias Vikky, Prashant and Lavish — all residents of Rankhandi in Deoband — and Vikas, a resident of Karnal district in Haryana. He said two country-made pistols used in the crime and ammunition have been recovered from them. During interrogation, the accused told the police that they were «hurt» by Aazad's recent remarks made in Delhi and other places. They carried out the attack on Aazad as they were upset by his «inappropriate remarks» (ulta sidhe bayano)," the police said in the statement, without giving out any specific remarks.

AAP state unit general secretary Toko Nikam told reporters that the party is committed to providing free water, electricity, medical facilities ut Rs 10 lakh and world class education if they come to power in the northeastern state in 2024. Nikam said that if elected to power, the AAP will repeal the controversial Arunachal Pradesh Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (APUAPA) of 2014 and the Arunachal Pradesh Freedom of Religion Act of 1978. Protests erupted in the northeastern state after the state government booked 40 people under the APUAPA in connection with a 72-hour bandh call in the state capital this year. India’s merchandise exports have undergone a major shift in recent years. The change has been rather silent except for the occasional buzz about export of iPhones. But it is not just about Apple’s flagship product. India’s share in the global export of machinery, phones, automobiles and petroleum has grown significantly between 2015 and 2022. Meanwhile, there has been a marked decline in India’s share in its traditional export items such as gems and jewellery, apparel, meat and leather articles. Exports of textiles, clothing and made-ups, for instance, fell by about 17% y-o-y in FY2023. Is this change temporary or will this be a permanent feature of our trade order?
