Need people's support to defeat BJP, ensure 'good work' continues in Delhi, says Kejriwal
AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday said he needed the support of the people to defeat the BJP and ensure that the «good work» continued in Delhi. The former chief minister resumed his 'padyatra' following a break for the festivals and urged the people of Delhi to vote for AAP in the assembly elections while accusing the BJP of halting development work. «I need your support to defeat the BJP and keep the good work going in the city because I cannot do it alone. The BJP will stop all the work if it comes into power as it cannot match the facilities (being provided in Delhi) in states where it is already in power,» he claimed. There was no immediate response from the BJP on the claims.

Lies, deceit, fakery, loot & publicity best describe your govt: Congress' Kharge replies to PM Modi attacks
Narendra Modi's recent attack, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said lies, deceit, fakery, loot and publicity are the five adjectives that best describe the BJP government, adding that the 100-day plan was a cheap PR stunt. «Lies, Deceit, Fakery, Loot & Publicity are the 5 adjectives which best describe your Govt! Your drumbeating regarding a 100-day plan was a cheap PR stunt! On May 16, 2024 you had also claimed that you took inputs from more than 20 lakh people for the road map for 2047. RTI filed in PMO declined to put forth details, exposing your LIES!» said Kharge. «The 'B' in BJP stands for Betrayal, while the 'J' stands for JUMLA! Setting the record straight. Promise of 2 Crore Jobs per year? Why is India's Unemployment Rate at a 45-year high? Why are stampedes witnessed wherever there are vacancies for a handful of jobs? Who is responsible for 70 paper leaks in 7 years? Who snatched 5 Lakh Govt jobs by selling stake in PSUs? Bahut Hui Mehangai Ki Maar? Why have the household savings plunged to a 50-year low? Why has the cost of a common thali increased by 52% in just last year?» questioned Kharge.

Not a big fan of the house: Rahul Gandhi on 10, Janpath
Rahul Gandhi, who has spent a lot of time at the 10, Janpath bungalow in Lutyens' Delhi, says he is «not a big fan» of the house. The reason is that his father and former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi was living in the 10, Janpath house when he was assassinated in Tamil Nadu's Sriperumbudur on May 21, 1991. «My father died (while he was living) here, so I am not a big fan of this house,» Gandhi tells his nephew Raihan Rajiv Vadra, while working with paint jobs workers at the 10, Janpath residence ahead of Diwali. The conversation is recorded as part of a Diwali video that Gandhi released on Friday in which he interacts with paint job workers and potters. The video also features Vadra with whom Gandhi is in conversation.
