These centres, established under the "Ayurswasthya Yojna" programme, will be led by institutions like IISc, IIT Delhi, Jawaharlal Nehru University Delhi, CSIR-Central Drug Research Institute, Lucknow, and so on. Backed by a grant of Rs 52.47 crore, these centres will spearhead cutting-edge research, education, and healthcare innovation in the field of Ayurveda, by providing scientific underpinning for traditional knowledge, the statement added.

The Bengaluru-based company said it plans to invest Rs 755.4 crore to expand its dark store network, with an additional Rs 423.3 crore for lease and licensing payments for these stores or warehouses. Swiggy Instamart has around 557 dark stores as of June 30 and plans to now take it to 741 compared to earlier plan of 538 per the draft red herring prospectus in September.

Uttarakhand High Court has issued a contempt notice to Dr Vivek Joshi, Secretary Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) for allegedly defying its order over the empanelment of an Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer with the Centre. Justice Alok Kumar Verma issued the notice to the DoPT on October 23 on a plea filed by IFS officer Sanjiv Chaturvedi who alleged a wilful defiance of the court's order on his empanelment. A division bench of the high court had directed the Central government in September to provide Chaturvedi with his empanelment documents as a joint secretary (JS). He had moved the high court after the Central government passed an order saying the «appointment committee of cabinet had not approved» his empanelment for «holding the post of JS or equivalent at the Centre».

Baramulla MP Sheikh Abdul Rashid on Monday surrendered before authorities in Tihar Jail here after the end of his interim bail, prison officials said. The Awami Ittehad Party leader, who has been arrested in a terror funding case, reached jail premises at noon after a Delhi court, which was scheduled to pass the order on his bail plea, adjourned the matter. Additional Sessions Judge Chander Jit Singh had on September 10 granted interim bail to Rashid, alias Engineer Rashid, to enable him to campaign for the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections while deferring the order on his regular bail plea. Rashid's interim bail was previously extended till October 28 on the grounds of his father's poor health. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) hadn't opposed the plea after verifying the documents.
