Congress on Monday released party manifesto for the upcoming assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir ahead of the first-phase polling on September 18, 2024. Jammu and Kashmir goes to polls in three phases — September 18, September 25 and October 1. The counting of votes will take place on October 8. The manifesto was released by AICC chief spokesperson Pawan Khera and PCC president Tariq Hameed Karra at the party office in Delhi.

Delhi Chief Minister, the name of Delhi's new Chief Minister will be decided at the Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) legislative meeting, scheduled for Tuesday. According to the Aam Aadmi Party, the meeting will be held at the Chief Minister's residence at 11 a.m. tomorrow. When CM Kejriwal meets Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena at 4:30 p.m. tomorrow to submit his resignation, the newly chosen leader of the legislative party will simultaneously stake a claim for the post of Chief Minister.

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Monday accused the Centre of carrying out a «fuel loot» despite a reduction in crude oil prices and said election-going states shall defeat BJP by rejecting the "Modi-induced price rise". Kharge said crude oil prices have reduced by 32.5 per cent, yet BJP's "fuel loot continues". «Election-going states shall defeat BJP & reject this Modi-induced price rise!» Kharge said in a post in X.

Arvind Kejriwal pitches for early assembly polls in Delhi, experts on Sunday said the city government may have to write to the Election Commission giving reasons behind the demand. The final decision will, however, rest with the poll panel on when to hold the polls. The term of the Delhi Assembly ends on February 23 next year and the polls are expected to be held sometime early February. Delhi Police have initiated an investigation following an incident involving the bursting of firecrackers outside Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's residence in Civil Lines on Friday. The FIR has been lodged against unidentified individuals under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
