Benjamin Netanyahu said on Sunday that his government has voted unanimously to shut down the local offices of Qatar-owned broadcaster Al Jazeera. Netanyahu announced the decision on X, formerly Twitter, but details on the implications of the step on the channel, when it would go into effect or whether it was permanent or temporary shuttered were not immediately clear.

Akasa Air is confident that deliveries of its ordered Boeing 737 MAX jets will be on time, its CEO said, despite concerns over the U.S. planemaker's production schedule for 737s amid intense scrutiny after a mid-air incident this year. India's newest airline in January announced an order for 150 Boeing 737s, as it bets big on its international operations. The order announcement came days after a mid-air cabin panel blowout on an Alaska Air flight. Though Akasa's order does not include the 737 Max 9 version which has been in the spotlight after the incident, broader internal company scrutiny and external investigations in the U.S. have raised worries that delivery timeline of other variants of Boeing's 737 jetliner programme could be hit.

Civil Society Organisations Sunday said that there is no mandate for the adoption of the proposed agreement on investment facilitation for development (IFD) which is being negotiated by a group of members of the World Trade Organization (WTO), led by China. A WTO decision of 2004 prohibits negotiations on investment facilitation and efforts are on to bring the issue in through plurilateral means. Around 130 members support the pact. The US, Sri Lanka and Pakistan are also not part of this proposed pact. India and South Africa have opposed it as it neither has the WTO mandate or its members’ consensus and cannot be brought to the formal process in the WTO.

United States said Sunday that multinational talks in Paris came to an «understanding» on a possible deal for Hamas to release hostages and for a new ceasefire in the Gaza war. An Israeli delegation led by Mossad chief David Barnea was in the French capital on Friday to discuss a deal to ensure a fresh ceasefire and the release of hostages held by Hamas in Gaza in exchange for Palestinian prisoners held by Israel.
