Varanasi cricket fans perform 'aarti', pray for India's victory in ICC Champions Trophy final
Sarang Nath Mahadev temple in Varanasi to perform an 'aarti' and pray for India's victory in the ICC Champions Trophy final against New Zealand. The fans expressed confidence in India's performance, citing the team's strong bowling and batting lineup. Speaking to ANI, cricket coach Saif Ahmed said, «I strongly believe that today, India will emerge as the Champions Trophy winners. Our biggest strength in this final is our spin attack. The team is playing with four world-class spinners, which gives us a significant advantage. Considering the team's overall balance and performance, the trophy is coming home, finally ending our 25-year-long wait.» «The match between India and New Zealand is going to be a thrilling one. The team is aware of its strengths and weaknesses. Their fielding is excellent--Kane Williamson and Glenn Phillips are capable of taking great catches. If Virat Kohli plays his best shots, very few would be able to make those catches. We have world-class bowlers and batters. We will win this ICC match by a good margin,» another coach told ANI.

Emma Raducanu says she struggled to breathe after seeing "fixated" man in the crowd
Emma Raducanu says she «couldn't see the ball through tears» and struggled to breathe after spotting a man who was «fixated» on her during a match. The British tennis player and 2021 U.S. Open winner was left distressed during a match at last month's Dubai Championships by the presence of the man in the stand. The man, who had already approached Raducanu earlier in the tournament, was ejected from the arena after she spoke to the chair umpire during a second-round match against Karolina Muchova. He was later detained by Dubai police and signed a document pledging to «maintain distance» from Raducanu. The WTA said he had «exhibited fixated behavior.» «I was obviously very distraught,» Raducanu told British reporters at the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells, her first tournament since the incident.

India know the surface, but we're ready for a scrap: New Zealand skipper Mitchell Santner
Mitchell Santner on Thursday acknowledged India's familiarity with the slow pitch here at the DICS, but said his side is ready for a «scrap» in the Champions Trophy final. The Kiwis arrived here on Thursday evening ahead of the ICC showpiece's title clash against India on March 9. «They've played all their games here in Dubai and know that surface. Obviously, the surface will dictate a little bit of how we want to operate. It might be a little bit slower than what we got in Lahore. It might be more of a scrap, but we're down to scrap,» Santner said after touching base in the city. However, Santner said New Zealand can take some solace from their experience of playing against India during the group stage.

Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) has arrested Kannada actress Ranya Rao at Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport for allegedly smuggling 14.8 kg of gold, valued at approximately Rs 12.5 crore. Officials confirmed the arrest on Tuesday, stating that she was apprehended on Monday night and subsequently presented before an economic offences court, which remanded her to 14 days in judicial custody. 'Travis Head gaya': Meme fest erupts as netizens crown Varun Chakravarthy India's headache remover specialist
Varun Chakravarthy dismissed Australia's Travis Head in the Champions Trophy semi-final in Dubai. The Australian opener, known for his match-winning performances against India, was sent back for 39 off 33 balls, triggering an outpouring of reactions on social media. Head’s dismissal reduced Australia to two down, giving India a crucial breakthrough in the high-stakes encounter. Travis Head had been a major concern for Indian fans leading up to the match, given his history of tormenting India on big occasions.
