RBI calls for transparency in EMI reset, penal levies
MUMBAI : Borrowers will soon get to choose whether to pay higher equated monthly instalments (EMIs) or repay their loan over a longer period when banks raise interest rates. They can also expect greater transparency from lenders on penalties if they miss out on repayments. In the first of two circulars issued on Friday, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) said banks and non-banks should provide individual borrowers with the option to switch to a fixed rate at the time of resetting interest rates.

One Point One Solutions Q1 net grows by 1.42 times to ₹4.32 crore
Mumbai, August 17, 2023: One Point One Solutions, a Business Process Management (BPM) service provider, has reported that its net profit in the June quarter was doubled to ₹4.32 crore as compared with ₹1.79 crore in the year-earlier period, up 141%. Total income during the quarter ended June 30, 2023 increased 14.81% to ₹40.24 crore, as compared with ₹35.05 crore a year ago. EBITDA was at ₹12.81 crore, as compared with ₹8.63 crore in the same period the year earlier, up 48.44%.

Amazon Data Services India has picked up a land parcel spread over four acres in Mumbai’s Powai suburb from engineering and construction major Larsen & Toubro through a long-term lease of nearly 18 years. The subsidiary of Amazon is planning to develop a data center on this land parcel for which it will be paying rent of over Rs 562 crore over the total lease tenure excluding the rent escalation. Indian Railways has approved an increase in train speeds between Arakkonam and Jolarpet, reducing travel time between Chennai and Bengaluru, among other destinations.
